Physical Description

Located at 1400 6th Street in Alameda (between Central and Taylor Avenue), our West end campus serves both The Child Unique Montessori School Toddler and Primary students (including Transitional Kindergarten & Kindergarten) and The Montessori Elementary Intermediate School of Alameda (MEISA) 1st through 6th grade students. This lovely campus includes an enclosed play area with 2 play structures upon a soft turf mat, an optional outdoor eating-area with new wood picnic tables, 4 spacious light-filled classrooms, a large auditorium and stage and a separate office, area all within the historic St. Barnabas campus. All classrooms are carpeted.

Age

Students at the Taylor school are 2 – 11 years of age. Diapers are not a pre-requisite for entrance. Children who enter The Child Unique must have transitioned from an attachment to pacifiers, bottles and personal belongings at school.

Classroom Compositions

1 Toddler classroom, 2 Primary classrooms and 2 Elementary age (grades 1-6) classrooms.
