The Child Unique Montessori School is a private preschool located in Alameda, CA. We educate and care for a diverse community of students. Our primary drivers are our values of diversity, equity, justice, and belonging. We are unique by both what we teach and how we teach it. And we commit to model these values and instill them in our students.

Our Campuses
The Child Unique Montessori School is comprised of three campuses dispersed across Alameda Island in the San Francisco Bay.
Our 18 month old to 5 year olds (toddler through kindergarten) enjoy school at a relaxed pace in a renovated Craftsman. The main classroom has a walnut natural wood interior; all classrooms are carpeted for a home-like atmosphere.
There is a redwood deck and a newly renovated playground and children’s garden.
Encinal School

Our 3–7 year olds (preschool through 1st grade) enjoy school in a beautifully remodeled Victorian. The main classrooms have hardwood floor and radiant floor heating. Classrooms are spacious and light-filled.
We have an expansive playground and outdoor eating area.
Our 1st through 6th-grade students enjoy a vibrant campus featuring an enclosed play area with two play structures set on soft turf, an optional outdoor dining area with new wooden picnic tables, and four spacious, light-filled, carpeted classrooms.
The campus also includes a large auditorium with a stage and a dedicated office space, all situated within the historic St. Barnabas grounds.
About Montessori Elementary Intermediate School of Alameda
As your child advances in their education, we invite you to consider our private school that will take them through sixth grade. Our private school, MEISA, involves the academic rigor of core subjects balanced by an emphasis in writing, critical thinking, public speaking, and the arts. Our curriculum involves the integration of the common core within the Montessori academic scope and sequence, with an underpinning of lessons in character development, leadership and responsibility to self, community and the world.
